Recycling Your Dinner Ladies PackagingUpdated 6 hours ago

Thank you for responsibly recycling your Dinner Ladies packaging! We aim to use as much recyclable material as possible and encourage you to do the same. Here’s how to dispose of each item:

  • Cardboard box: Can be recycled or repurposed as a toy for pets or toddlers.
  • Foil insulation: Made from reusable/recycled plastics; dispose with other soft plastics.
  • Ice packs: Eco-friendly! Use in your garden to retain water or dissolve a teaspoon of salt in water and wash down the drain. Demo here.
  • Plastic wrap: Include with soft plastics recycling.
  • Pulp trays: Biodegradable once the plastic liner is removed; tray goes in recycling or compost, liner with soft plastics.
  • Aluminium trays: Recycle after cleaning.

Tips & Alternatives:

  • For soft plastics, check your local council for collection options via Australian Recycling Label (search "soft plastic").
  • A newer option is Recycle Smart, which collects soft plastics and other recyclables from your home for a small fee.

We’re also working with suppliers on plastic-free or biodegradable liner alternatives.
